Two SCOPE David Gadd Memorial Scholarships are available annually to eligible graduating students of subscribers in good standing. These scholarships are awarded in memory of David Gadd who served Sacramento home schoolers and SCOPE in a variety of ways. He’s probably best remembered for his challenging questions and sense of humor while serving as newsletter editor. David passed away from cancer in 1996.
Two SCOPE Randy Aimo Memorial Scholarships are available annually to eligible graduating students of subscribers in good standing. These scholarships are awarded in memory of Randy Aimo who, together with his wife Cathy, was a homeschool pioneer in the 1980’s. They were one of SCOPE’s founding families. Randy served as Sergeant-at-Arms on the SCOPE Board of Directors prior to serving as SCOPE’s Chairman from 1990-1996. Randy received his eternal inheritance on August 3, 2002.
Applications for these scholarships are usually available in January or February in the year the student is graduating. Application submission deadline is usually in April. Awards are announced in May or June. The amount may vary depending on SCOPE’s fiscal budget. The scholarships may be used for a variety of post-secondary programs including college, seminary, ministry training or apprenticeships.
